Mission
To broaden the horizons of the Czech cultural scene, with a commitment to artistic excellence and unique concert-going experiences.
The Strings of Autumn festival is a musical crossroads where genre meets genre, and tradition meets experiment. The festival presents a selection of jazz, classical music, crossover, early music, and world music, performed by some of the most important figures on the contemporary music scene.

A festival of firsts, Strings has given Czech Republic debuts to artists as diverse as Bobby McFerrin, Michael Nyman, Cassandra Wilson, and Natalie Dessay. The same spirit of discovery has seen Strings of Autumn unearth cutting-edge young talents who have since gone on to become familiar names on the international scene (Vijay Iyer, Martin Grubinger, Ondřej Pivec, etc).
In its imaginative pairings of artist and concert hall, Strings has given its audience a range of magical concert-going experiences, whether in the splendor of Prague’s most venerable concert halls (Rudolfinum, Obecni Dum), or in more intimate settings such as St Anna’s Church and the Spanish Synagogue.
Already a Prague institution but by no means content to rest on its laurels, Strings continues to forge its own path and to break new ground – and the Czech cultural scene is all the richer for it.
